1. General Terms
By accessing or using the Service (the website tietoarc.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. Where a higher minimum age applies under the law of your country of residence, that higher age applies.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with the "Last updated" date shown above. The changes do not take effect retroactively, and your use of the Services is always subject to the current version of the terms of use. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
If any section of these terms of use is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the section will be limited only to the extent necessary, and other provisions of these terms of use will remain in effect as such. If we do not enforce any right or provision recorded in these terms of use, this should not be interpreted as having waived that right or provision.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Finland. However, if you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms deprives you of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may be entitled to bring proceedings in, and rely on the mandatory consumer-protection laws of, your country of residence. We encourage you to contact us first to try to resolve any concerns informally.
In the event of any conflict between the English version of these Terms and any translated versions, the English version shall prevail.
2. Privacy
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for information on how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
By creating an account, you consent to the use of your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy for the purpose of providing and operating the Service. We will only send you marketing communications where you have separately opted in, and you may withdraw that consent at any time. You can choose not to share certain information, such as demographic data, by adjusting your account settings.
4. Content and Usage
The Service has the right to change the pages of the Service, block access to them and terminate the Service at any time. The Service also has the right to add, change and remove parts of the Service and to change any free parts of the Service to paid ones.
We are distributors and not publishers of the content supplied by users of the Service. Any opinions, advice, statements, services, offers or other information or content made available by users, visitors and other third parties are those of the respective author(s). We are not responsible for any material posted by third parties and we cannot and do not endorse it in any way.
The content of the Service is provided for general information purposes only. The Service does not make any representations or warranties about the accuracy, completeness or reliability of the content. The user is responsible for verifying the accuracy of the content before using it.
The Service provides content in multiple languages. While we try to ensure that the content is translated and presented in a way that is easy to understand, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the translations.
User-Generated Content: You may submit reviews, ratings, likes, and other content ("User Content") to the Service. By submitting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, and sublicensable right to use, reproduce, modify, and display the User Content in connection with operating and promoting the Service. This license continues for as long as the User Content remains on the Service and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for backups, legal compliance, and moderation; it ends when we delete or anonymize the content in accordance with our Privacy Policy, without affecting rights already exercised.
You agree not to submit any User Content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or infringes on any third party’s intellectual property rights. We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms. Where we remove your User Content or restrict your account for a content violation, we will, where required by applicable law, provide you with a statement of reasons and information on how to contest the decision. You may report content you believe is illegal or violates these Terms by contacting us. Users must comply with the Review Guidelines when submitting written reviews. These guidelines are available here and form part of this agreement.
User Conduct: You agree to provide honest and accurate reviews and ratings. Submitting fake or misleading reviews is strictly prohibited and may result in account termination.
Prohibited Activities: You may not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the Service. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to, data mining, scraping, or using automated systems to access the Service, except through interfaces we expressly authorize (such as our official API accessed with a valid API key, in accordance with any applicable API terms and rate limits). The user is responsible for compensation to the Service and directly to other parties, if he commits misconduct or acts in violation of the law or agreements.
Intellectual Property: tietoarc® is a registered trademark of Tietoscape Oy. The tietoarc logo is a trademark of Tietoscape Oy. All rights are reserved. All content provided by the Service, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of the Service or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights including Sui generis. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any content from the Service without our prior written consent.
4a. Source Profiles and Affiliated Accounts
Some accounts may be linked to a news source or media outlet listed on the Service ("Affiliated Accounts"). This section applies in addition to the rest of these Terms when your account is affiliated with a source profile.
Authority and Eligibility: You may request to link your account to a source only if you are authorized to act on behalf of that source or its publisher. By linking your account, you represent and warrant that you have this authority. We may verify claimed affiliations, and we may refuse, suspend, or revoke an affiliation at any time and at our discretion, including where authority cannot be confirmed.
What Affiliated Accounts Can Do: Depending on the access level granted, an Affiliated Account may manage the source's public profile (such as its description, logo, paywall information, and social media links) and add, edit, or remove content feeds (including RSS feeds hosted by you and feeds hosted by us on your behalf). All such changes are subject to our review and to the rest of these Terms.
Content You Provide: By submitting a profile, feed, feed content, logo, or other materials through an Affiliated Account ("Source Content"), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, and sublicensable license to ingest, store, index, translate, summarize, analyze (including generating machine-readable representations such as embeddings), display, and redistribute the Source Content in connection with operating and promoting the Service — including through our outbound feeds (for example at feeds.tietoarc.com). You represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights to the Source Content, including any trademarks and logos, and that it does not infringe any third party's rights or violate any law.
Hosted Feeds: Where we host content on your behalf, you remain responsible for that content. We may set technical or volume limits, and we may disable or remove hosted content that is unlawful, infringing, harmful (for example, containing malware), inaccurate, or otherwise in breach of these Terms.
Accuracy and No Impersonation: Information you provide through an Affiliated Account must be accurate and not misleading. You may not impersonate another outlet or misrepresent your relationship to a source.
Our Rights: We may review, modify, reject, disable, or remove any profile change, feed, or Source Content, and may suspend or revoke an affiliation, at our discretion — for example for reasons of legality, accuracy, quality, security, or technical operation.
Independence of Ratings and Reviews: Affiliation with a source does not give you any control over community ratings, reviews, or our own editorial or analytical assessments of that source (including bias and credibility indicators). You may not demand that we alter or remove such content, except that you may report unlawful content through our normal reporting process. We maintain sole editorial control over how sources are rated, assessed, and presented.
Audience Analytics: An Affiliated Account may be given access to aggregated audience and performance statistics about its own source. These statistics are provided solely for your own use in relation to that source. You must not attempt to re-identify any individual from them or use them to identify, target, or contact individual users.
Termination of Affiliation: We or you may end an affiliation at any time. When an affiliation ends, your ability to manage the source profile and its feeds will cease. Because source listings, profiles, and feeds are part of the Service's factual catalogue of media sources, they may remain published after your affiliation ends; we may continue to display, maintain, or update them independently. This does not affect any license you granted while the affiliation was active.
Liability and Indemnity: You are responsible for all Source Content you submit and all actions taken through your Affiliated Account. To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify us against claims, damages, and costs arising from Source Content you provide or from your breach of this section.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
Subscription Plans: We offer subscription plans that provide access to premium features of the Service. Details of the available plans, including pricing and features, are provided on our website.
Merchant of Record: Subscription purchases are processed by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, acting as the merchant of record. This means your purchase and payment may form a contract with Lemon Squeezy, who handles billing, payment processing, and applicable tax (including VAT) on our behalf. Lemon Squeezy's terms may also apply to your purchase.
Billing and Payments: By subscribing, you agree to pay the subscription fees as specified on the website. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (e.g., monthly or annually) and are non-refundable, except as provided in these Terms or required by law.
You must provide accurate and complete billing information and keep it updated. Accepted payment methods and the currency in which fees are charged are those shown at checkout via our payment provider.
Automatic Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will not be charged for subsequent periods.
Free Trials: If we offer a free trial, you will have access to premium features for the duration of the trial period. At the end of the trial, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends.
Right of Withdrawal for EU Consumers: If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from the subscription contract within 14 days of purchase without giving any reason. To exercise this right, you must inform us of your decision to withdraw before the 14-day period expires by contacting us. When you subscribe, you expressly request that we begin providing the premium features immediately and acknowledge that you will lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed. If you have started using the premium features during the withdrawal period, your right to withdraw may be limited to the extent the service has already been provided.
If you withdraw within the 14-day period and have not used the premium features, we will refund the subscription fee using the same payment method you used for the initial transaction.
Refunds: Except as provided above for EU consumers or as required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable. If you believe there has been an error in billing, please contact us within 14 days of the transaction, and we will investigate the issue.
Disputes and Chargebacks: If you initiate a dispute or chargeback with your payment provider, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account while we investigate the matter.
Suspension/Termination for Non-Payment: If your subscription payment is not received, we may suspend or terminate your access to the premium features.
Consumer Dispute Resolution: If you are a consumer in Finland and we cannot resolve a dispute directly, you may refer the matter to the Consumer Disputes Board (Kuluttajariitalautakunta) after first contacting the Consumer Advisory Services (Kuluttajaneuvonta). Consumers in other EU countries may have access to equivalent bodies in their country of residence.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, tietoarc.com'S SOFTWARE, APPS, WEBSITE, COMMUNITIES AND ANY OF ITS OTHER PROPERTIES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS, OWNERS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH tietoarc.com'S SOFTWARE, APPS, WEBSITE, COMMUNITIES AND ANY OF ITS OTHER PROPERTIES OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN tietoarc.com'S SOFTWARE, APPS, WEBSITE, COMMUNITIES AND ANY OF ITS OTHER PROPERTIES. YOU EXPRESSLY AGREE THAT YOUR USE OF THE tietoarc.com SERVICES IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. tietoarc.com RESERVES THE RIGHT TO WITHDRAW ANY SERVICE OR DELETE ANY INFORMATION FROM THE SERVICES AT ANY TIME IN ITS DISCRETION.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or willful misconduct, and for any statutory rights that mandatory consumer-protection law grants you and that cannot be excluded or limited. If you are a consumer, these mandatory rights are not affected by the disclaimers above.
7. Termination and Suspension
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time for a valid reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms, non-payment, or where required by law. Except where you have breached these Terms or the law, if you have a paid subscription we will allow your access to continue until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, or provide a pro-rata refund for the unused portion where required by applicable law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease, and any outstanding subscription fees will become due.
